located at 1644 31st Street, NW, in Washington, D.C., is a historic mansion that was built between 1795 and 1816 for Armistead Peter, Jr. and his wife, Mary Lee Custis Peter. The house, which is situated in the Georgetown Heights neighborhood, was designed by architect Thomas Thornton and features Tudor Revival architecture. The property, which spans over 5 acres, also includes landscaping designed by Thomas Peter and his descendants. This photograph, taken in the 1920s, captures the grandeur of "Tudor Place" as it once was.
