The Levee of the Season, 1874. Queen Victoria reviews her troops. These were the men who had fought in the Ashanti Campaign recently under the leadership of Sir Garnet Wolseley. The Campaign was successful and brought enhanced trade opportunities on the Gold Coast to Britain. On their return, all 1, 600 troops were reviewed by the Queen in Windsor Great Park.
