Brodrick, Viscount Midleton. A CUSPIDE CORONA (From the spear a crown). Alan Brodrick, 1st Viscount Midleton (1656 a 1728) was an Irish lawyer and politician. The title Viscount Midleton, of Midleton in the County of Cork, is in the Peerage of Ireland, created in 1717. The arms shown belong, more probably, to Alans son George. Source: The Peerage of Ireland or A Genealogical History of the Present Nobility of that Kingdom, with engravings of their paternal coats of arms by John Lodge, Deputy Keeper of the Records in Birmingham Tower.
