Army Air Corps Apache Attack Helicopter

An Army Air Corps Apache of the Apache Attack Helicopter Display Team thrills the crowds at the RAF Cosford airshow.
On the 9th June 2013 Royal Air Force Cosford hosted their annual Airshow, attended by thousands of people from across the country.
Captain Wales flew as part of the Army Air Corps Apache Attack Helicopter Display Team (AHDT) at the RAF Cosford Air Show.
The AHDT comes from 3 Regiment aC, which is part of the Attack Helicopter Force within 16 Air Assault Brigade.
Each year, crews are selected for their expertise and skills in flying and operating the Apache, and have a considerable amount of operational experience, mainly from Afghanistan, and also Libya. The AHDT is not an aerobatic team and therefore does not require enhanced flight authorisations; instead, the operational aircrew have been thoroughly trained to perform manoeuvres within the Release to Services of the Apache helicopter at annual Air Shows.
The Apache Force provides near all weather Surveillance, Presence, Deterrence and when needed Close Combat Attack capabilities on operations, as well as an escort role to other aircraft. The aircraft is a versatile, multi-role attack platform capable of delivering effect across the full spectrum of operations from both land and sea
