Ecce Homo, Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain
7298534 Ecce Homo, Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain by Gaudi, Antoni (1852-1926); (add.info.: The Passion facade was recently built. It is located at Sardenya Street and faces west.
It represents the passion and death of Jesus Christ. In keeping with this function, it has an extraordinarily bare and austere appearance, with edged geometric shapes.
It is formed by a porch of six columns, with three entrance doors, the central of which is divided in two by a central column with the signs Alpha and Omega, located between the four bell towers. Like the facade of the Nativity and that of Glory, the three portals of the Passion are dedicated to the three theological virtues.
The sobriety of the facade is also shown by the presence of columns in the form of bones and the sober sculptures made by Josep Maria Subirachs, adding drama to Gaudi's already deliberately funereal conception.
The set follows Gaudi's initial project in its general characteristics, but the details are obviously adapted to modern aesthetics. In this sense, the very symbolic iconography of Subirachs represents a total break with the figurative concept of the opposite facade (of the Nativity).

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the mesmerizing beauty of the Ecce Homo sculpture on the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. Designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudi, this masterpiece is situated on the recently built Passion facade, facing west towards Sardenya Street. The Passion facade represents the profound story of Jesus Christ's passion and death, reflected in its austere and bare appearance adorned with geometric shapes. The entrance to this magnificent structure consists of six columns and three doors, with a central column featuring Alpha and Omega symbols between four bell towers. Each portal symbolizes one of the three theological virtues. What sets this facade apart is its striking sobriety, highlighted by bone-shaped columns and sculptures created by Josep Maria Subirachs. These sculptures add an intense sense of drama to Gaudi's intentionally funereal concept. While adhering to Gaudi's original vision for the project, modern aesthetics have been incorporated into its intricate details. Subirachs' symbolic iconography marks a stark departure from the figurative style seen on the opposite Nativity facade. This juxtaposition adds depth and intrigue to Gaudi's architectural marvel. Through Jean-Paul Paireault's lens, we are transported into a world where artistry meets spirituality. This print serves as a testament to Gaudi's genius while capturing every nuance of emotion embedded within this extraordinary piece of architecture at Sagrada Familia.
