3032718 Loyalist officers coat worn by Monson Hoyt of the Prince of Wales Volunteers, c.1777 (textile) by English School, (18th century); Connecticut Historical Society, Hartford, CT, USA; (add.info.: Connecticut Loyalist, Monson Hoyt, was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Prince of Wales American Regiment Volunteers on April 6th 1777, and served with them through the entire war. This scarlet coat with blue facings and silvered buttons spaced by twos was probably worn by him during the latter part of the war.
