Delphinium speciosum, also known as Shewy Delphinium or the Showy Delphinium, is a magnificent flowering plant native to the western United States and Mexico. Known for its tall spikes of vibrant, blue-purple flowers, this Delphinium species is a true garden gem. The delicate petals, adorned with intricate veining and a subtle sheen, curl gracefully around the slender, tubular nectar spurs. The meticulous process of creating this engraving involved first producing an accurate botanical illustration, which was then transferred to a copper plate.
