Murrays River Club at fashionable Maidenhead, opened in 1915 as a sister club and alternative summer venue to the original Murrays club opened by Jack May in Beak Street, London in 1913. It was located in a Georgian house overlooking the river and was frequented by society types and personalities from the theatrical world. River trips were available early in the evening and the venue was notable for its illuminated dance floor.
