In the heart of the garden-like playground, Gaston Rigaud, dressed in military uniform, plays a lively game of blind man's buff with a joyful crowd of school girls. Originally produced at the Theatre des Bouffes-Parisiens in Paris on the 16th of November 1897, with music by Andre Messager, 'The Little Michus' made its way to the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin as part of the George Edwardes Co. tour on the 24th of September 1906. This postcard, created by E. P. Kinsella around the same year, offers a glimpse into the magical and entertaining atmosphere of the production. 'The Little Michus' was a pantomime or 'panto' that brought joy and laughter to audiences during the early 1900s.
