The Swiss Centre was designed by David Aberdeen and was built by John Laing & Son Ltd. It had shops at street level with a market area and restaurants in the podium known as Swiss Fair and an eleven storey building above including offices and residential units. The building was demolished in 2008

This print captures the interior of The Taverne at the Swiss Centre, located in Coventry Street, Leicester Square, City of Westminster, Greater London. Designed by David Aberdeen and constructed by John Laing & Son Ltd. , this iconic building was a hub of activity during the 1960s. The Swiss Centre boasted an impressive structure with shops on street level and a market area along with restaurants in the podium known as Swiss Fair. Rising above were eleven storeys comprising offices and residential units. This architectural marvel stood tall until its unfortunate demolition in 2008.
