According to Greek mythology, the Argonauts, led by the hero Jason, embarked on a perilous quest to steal the Golden Fleece from the land of Colchis. As they sailed through the treacherous waters, they were suddenly besieged by a swarm of Harpies, mythical creatures with the faces of women and the bodies of birds. The Argonauts, renowned for their bravery and determination, were taken aback by the Harpies' unexpected attack. These creatures were not only terrifying in appearance but were also known for their foul breath and ability to spread disease. The Argonauts, however, were not about to let the Harpies hinder their mission. In this print, we see Jason and his crew frantically trying to protect their ship from the Harpies' relentless assault. The Harpies, with their wings spread wide, swoop down on the Argonauts, ready to wreak havoc. The crew members, armed with shields and spears, fight back with all their might.
