I still get goose bumps when I remember this evening. We went to sunset at this waterfall and also made a couple of cool photos until late. On the way back it was already very dark, we were together with Brennweite - Simon Kaufmann Photographie walking through the forest as we suddenly saw fresh footprints of an animal on the snow which looked bigger than a dog's, we were curious and took a couple of photos. While photographing I heard a sound like a growl! We first thought it was a airplane that were passing by and then we heard these sounds 2 or 3 more times, then we knew this was not an airplane! I was looking around and as I turned my head on the right side, I saw with my forehead lamp about 30m away from us two eyes in the dark, they shone gold and red and were too far apart to be a cat or something small. We walked about 10 minutes through the forest and looked around again and again, we were curious and had fear... When we were in the car we searched on internet for the footprints and afterwards we were quite sure that it was a wolf or even several... I will definitely be more careful when I walk through the forests during the night in the future.... Burim Muqa

This print titled "Moonrise at the waterfall" transports me back to a memorable evening in May 2017. As we ventured out to witness the sunset at this enchanting Adelboden waterfall, little did we know that it would be an experience etched in our minds forever. With cameras in hand, capturing breathtaking shots became our mission until darkness began to engulf us on our way back. It was then that we stumbled upon fresh footprints on the snowy ground, larger than any dog's tracks. Intrigued by this mysterious presence, we cautiously snapped a few more photos. Suddenly, amidst the silence of the forest, a low growl pierced through the air. Initially mistaking it for an airplane passing overhead, subsequent growls dispelled any doubts - something else lurked nearby. With my forehead lamp illuminating our path, I turned my head and froze as two eyes glimmered ominously about 30 meters away from us. The golden and red hues emanating from those distant orbs were too far apart to belong to a small creature like a cat; they belonged to something much bigger and wilder. We continued walking nervously through the forest for another ten minutes while constantly scanning our surroundings with trepidation. Once safely inside our car, curiosity led us down an internet rabbit hole where we discovered that those footprints likely belonged to wolves or perhaps even more than one. This unforgettable encounter has left me with goosebumps every time I recall that night. It serves as a stark reminder of nature's untamed beauty and teaches me to approach nocturnal walks through forests with heightened caution from now on.
