View of the village from the Old Kea side, showing Calenick bridge on the left and the clock tower in the background. The peaceful scene of a street, traffic-free and deserted apart from two little girls holding hands in the foreground. The clock tower belonged to an important tin smelting works which operated throughout most of the 18th and 19th centuries before closing in 1891. The tin ore was brought from the local mines, and the finished ingots of white tin were shipped from Truro. Photographer: Unknown
