"Lana Turner, born Julia Jean Turner on February 8, 1921, was an American film actress who became a major star under contract with MGM during Hollywood's Golden Age. Known for her striking beauty and sultry voice, Turner began her film career in 1937 at the age of 16, appearing in small roles before gaining notice in the 1939 film "They Live Again." In the 1940s and 1950s, Turner became a leading lady in a series of successful films, including "Ziegfeld Girl" (1941), "The Postman Always Rings Twice" (1946), and "Imitation of Life" (1959). Her performances in these films showcased her range as an actress, from glamorous leading lady to tragic heroine. Turner's personal life was as intriguing as her on-screen persona. She was married eight times and was involved in several high-profile romances, including one with mobster Johnny Stompanato. Her personal life often made headlines and fueled public interest in her career. Despite her personal struggles, Turner continued to act in films and on television throughout the 1960s and 1970s. She passed away on June 25, 1995, at the age of 74. Today, Lana Turner is remembered as a iconic figure of Hollywood's Golden Age, known for her beauty, talent, and enduring legacy as a film actress."
