Born on February 25, 1908, in London, England, Fuchs dedicated his life to scientific exploration and discovery. In 1955, Fuchs embarked on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, which aimed to retrace the historic route of Sir Ernest Shackleton's failed Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914-1917.
