Born on April 9, 1883, in Kabul, Nadir Shah rose to power following a tumultuous period of political instability and foreign intervention. He assumed the throne on October 15, 1929, after the assassination of his predecessor, King Amanullah Khan. Nadir Shah's reign was marked by a renewed emphasis on traditional Afghan values and the restoration of the monarchy.
