This striking image captures the moment of Lord Edward Fitzgerald's arrest during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. Born into the Anglo-Irish aristocracy, Fitzgerald was a leading figure in the rebellion, which aimed to overthrow British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish republic.
