Junipero Serra: A Devoted Missionary and Pioneer of California's Missions This evocative photograph print captures the revered figure of Junipero Serra (1713-1784), a Franciscan friar and missionary who played a pivotal role in the early history of California. His legacy continues to be felt in California today, where he is remembered as a pioneer, a visionary, and a man of deep faith.
