Mouflon Collection

Mouflon are bovidae mammals, belonging to the same family as sheep and goats, and are native to the mountains of Europe, North Africa and Asia Minor. They have a reddish-brown coat with a dark stripe running along their back. Males have large horns that can reach up to 60 cm in length. Females typically do not have horns or only small ones. Mouflon live in herds of up to 30 individuals and feed on grasses, herbs, shrubs and other vegetation found in their habitat, and are active during the day but will rest during midday heat or when threatened by predators such as wolves or lynx and can an important species for conservation efforts due to their declining populations due to hunting and habitat loss caused by human activities such as grazing livestock and urbanization.
