Born on November 24, 1784, in Barboursville, Virginia, Taylor rose to prominence as a military leader during the Mexican-American War, earning the nickname 'Old Rough-and-Ready' for his unassuming demeanor and unyielding determination. In this image, Taylor is depicted in full military regalia, his stern expression conveying a sense of resolve and leadership.
