His most famous roles include "Le Trou" (1960), "Le Voleur" (1962), and "Z" (1969). Montand's charisma and versatility as an actor were matched by his commitment to social justice. He was a vocal critic of the Algerian War and used his influence to support various political causes. Montand passed away on November 9, 1991, leaving behind a rich legacy as a groundbreaking actor and cultural icon.
