Known for his innovative surgical techniques and groundbreaking research on gonorrhea, Gull was also infamously linked to the Jack the Ripper case through a series of sensational allegations. Born in Hackney, London, Gull studied medicine at University College London and went on to become a surgeon at the Middlesex Hospital. He gained widespread recognition for his work on the treatment of gonorrhea, publishing several influential papers on the subject. However, his reputation was later tarnished by accusations that he was involved in the gruesome murders of at least five women in the Whitechapel district of London, which came to be known as the Jack the Ripper case.
