Lever, a renowned English soap manufacturer, is best known for founding the Lever Brothers company, which would later become Unilever. The village of Port Sunlight, named after the sunlit port of Liverpool, was designed to provide a healthy and comfortable living environment for the workers of the nearby Lever Brothers soap factory.
