1. Title: "A Royal Tongue-Twister: Prince George's Visit to Llanfairpwllgwyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Station, Wales, 1933" 2.. In the charming village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales, a unique event unfolded on the 5th of September, 1933. The famous tongue-twister of a name, which translates to "Saint Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near the Rapid Whirlpool by St. Tysilio's Church of the Red Dragon of the Semi-Circular Church of St. Illtyd near the Church of St. Goethe with the Church of St. Tysilio," was put to the test when a royal visitor arrived. 3. Prince George, later King George VI, paid a visit to the residence of Lord Anglesey. To mark the occasion, the LMS (London, Midland and Scottish Railway) station was adorned with a 25-foot-long placard, proudly displaying the full name of the village. The sign, a testament to the village's sense of humor and Welsh pride, left the prince, as well as many onlookers, bewildered and puzzled. 4. In this photograph, a man, seemingly intrigued by the sign, scratches his head, trying to decipher the tongue-twister. The station, bustling with activity, stands as a reminder of the unique history and character of the Welsh village. This image, taken in 1933, continues to intrigue and amuse visitors to this day. 5. The placard, a symbol of Welsh wit and hospitality, stands tall at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Station, a testament to the village's rich history and the enduring allure of its tongue-twisting name.
