Waiter who strikes a different note, successful composer of music in his spare time
Waiter who strikes a different note, successful composer of music in his spare time.
Richard Dabson, who works as a waiter in a Piccadilly Circus restaurant by day, is a successful composer when he goes home in the evening.
Soon at his first composition was broadcast by the BBC, Dick, as he is known to his customers, was offered a job different from waiting, but he turned it down because he says his present work inspires him with musical ideas.
Mr Dabson thinks up tunes for stirring marches, sentimental waltzes and passionate tangoes while he is serving drinks at the Monaco.
One of his compositions, called Sweetheart, has been made into a short film which will be shown soon.

By day, he gracefully serves customers at a bustling restaurant in Piccadilly Circus, but when evening falls, he transforms into a successful composer of music. Dabson's talent and passion for composing became evident when his first composition was broadcasted by the prestigious BBC. This recognition opened doors for him to pursue a career solely dedicated to his musical endeavors. However, despite tempting offers to leave his waiting job behind, Dabson chose to remain rooted in his current profession as it continues to inspire him with new melodies. One particular composition titled "Sweetheart" has even been adapted into a short film set for release soon.
