Car Blows up and Bursts Into Flames In Big Race At Brooklands
The Leyland - Thomas car driven by R. J. Munday in the Gold Trophy Race, the chief event at the Brooklands Whit Monday meeting, blew up and burst into flames at high speed.
With the car ablaze, Munday drove on for about half a mile until he reached gangway where attempts were made to put out the fire. Munday helped in the fight.
