As depicted in this beautiful 1855 illustration from The Illustrated London News, Llandudno lies at the heart of Conway Bay to the right and Llandudno Bay to the left, extending in a graceful curve from the Little Ormes Head to the Great Ormes Head. The Illustrated London News described Llandudno as a 'new and flourishing' resort, and it is easy to see why. The pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and stunning natural beauty attracted visitors from far and wide during the Victorian era. The town's two bays offer a unique and breathtaking coastline, with the Great Ormes Head forming the foreground of this image. The town's popularity grew during the 19th century, and it became a sought-after destination for those seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating break by the sea. Today, Llandudno remains a beloved seaside town, attracting visitors from around the world who come to enjoy its beautiful beaches, historic buildings, and stunning natural beauty. This photograph is a fascinating glimpse into the past, offering a glimpse into the history and charm of Llandudno as it was over 160 years ago.
