Dhole Collection

The dhole, also known as the Asiatic wild dog, is a species of canine native to Central, South and Southeast Asia, and is the only extant member of its genus Cuon and is classified as endangered by the IUCN, reddish-brown coat with white markings on its muzzle, chest and feet and has long legs and a bushy tail that it holds upright when running. The dhole lives in packs of up to 30 individuals which hunt cooperatively for small prey such as deer, boar or antelope, and are highly social animals that communicate through vocalizations including barking, whining and howling, and are threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and hunting by humans for sport or to protect livestock. Conservation efforts have been put in place to protect this species but more needs to be done if we want them around for future generations.
