Steamship Regina: A Voyage Across the Atlantic, 1924 This evocative photograph captures the majestic Steamship Regina as she cuts through the tranquil waters of the Atlantic Ocean in 1924. The White Star liner, named after Queen Regina of the United Kingdom, was a testament to the engineering marvels of the early 20th century. The Steamship Regina was launched in 1914, but due to the outbreak of World War I, she was commandeered by the British Admiralty and used as a troopship. After the war, she was returned to her original owners and underwent extensive refurbishments before resuming her transatlantic crossings.
