Kidderminster Station, Worcestershire, c. 1910

A photograph of the mock Tudor station building at Kidderminster Station, taken c.1910. This was the third station building for Kidderminster - the first existed from the opening of the station in 1852 until 1859, the second was destroyed by fire. The mock Tudor station building was built shortly after and remained in use until dry rot meant that the structure was demolished in 1968 and replaced by a simple brick building

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the essence of Kidderminster Station in Worcestershire, circa 1910. The mock Tudor station building stands proudly, a testament to the architectural beauty of its time. This was the third iteration of the station building, as fate had dealt harsh blows to its predecessors. The first stood from 1852 until 1859, while the second tragically succumbed to fire. The charm and elegance exuded by this mock Tudor structure are undeniable. Its intricate details and timber-framed facade transport us back to an era where craftsmanship reigned supreme. As we gaze upon this photograph, it is impossible not to be transported into a different world - one filled with horse-drawn carts and bustling activity. For nearly six decades, this remarkable building served as a hub for travelers coming and going from Kidderminster Station. However, dry rot eventually took its toll on the structure's integrity, leading to its demolition in 1968. In its place now stands a simple brick building that lacks the grandeur of its predecessor but serves as a reminder of progress and change. As we admire this snapshot frozen in time, let us appreciate both the history that unfolded within these walls and mourn what has been lost over time. May this image serve as a tribute to Kidderminster Station's rich heritage and remind us of how architecture can shape our memories and connect us with generations past
