Sir Felix John Clewett Pole was the GWRs General Manager between 1921 and 1929. He entered GWR service in the Telegraph Department at Swindon in 1891. He began work in the General Managers Office in 1904 where he edited the Great Western Railway Magazine. Pole was knighted in 1924
