Sir Charles, who was born on March 11, 1912, was a prominent figure in British society, holding numerous titles including Baronet, Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath, Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and Lieutenant of the City of London. In this image, Sir Charles is seen wearing his full uniform, which includes the red and gold stripes of the Chief Scout's crown on his cap, signifying his leadership position within the Scout Association. The photograph was taken in 1973, during Sir Charles' tenure as Chief Scout, and was likely taken at a major Scouting event.
