Cunard Pcard Steam Ships 1935 Elizabeth Liner

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning photograph captures the majestic RMS Queen Elizabeth, a Cunard White Star liner that set sail in 1935 and reigned as the largest ocean liner in the world until the launch of her sister ship, the RMS Queen Mary, in 1936. The ship, affectionately known as 'QE' or 'QE1', was the pride of the Cunard fleet and represented the pinnacle of maritime engineering and luxury travel during the golden age of ocean liners. Measuring 922 feet in length and capable of carrying over 2,000 passengers, the Queen Elizabeth was a true marvel of the time. Her sleek, elegant design was the work of renowned marine architects, Thomas Andrews and Company, and her distinctive white hull was emblazoned with the iconic Cunard funnel, bearing the distinctive red and black stripes and the three white stars of the White Star Line. The ship's maiden voyage took place on May 27, 1936, from Southampton, England, to New York City. The journey was a grand affair, with thousands of people lining the docks to bid farewell to the magnificent vessel. Over the years, the Queen Elizabeth made countless transatlantic crossings, carrying passengers in style and comfort, and becoming a symbol of the glamour and sophistication of ocean travel. This photograph, taken circa 1935, captures the Queen Elizabeth in all her glory, as she sits proudly in the water, with the sun casting a golden glow over her gleaming hull. The image is a testament to the rich maritime history of the early 20th century and the enduring allure of the ocean liner as a symbol of adventure, luxury, and human ingenuity.
