Wave energy converter, diagram
Wave energy converter. Diagram of the Wave Dragon wave energy converter, an offshore floating platform that harnesses energy from the sea. It works by elevating the waves to a reservoir above sea level and then letting this water out through a number of generator turbines, producing electricity. This prototype was launched in 2003 and is connected to the grid at Nissum Bredning, Denmark, supplying electricity to domestic homes. Its long term performance is being tested here before implementation of multiple Wave Dragons worldwide in 2009
