The two spacecraft, Soyuz 4 and Soyuz 5, docked on 16th January 1969. Two of the crew members on Soyuz 5 (Aleksei Yeliseyev and Yevgeny Khrunov) transferred by space walking to Soyuz 4 and landed with its commander, Vladimir Shatalov.
