Phenylbutazone anti-inflammatory molecule
Phenylbutazone anti-inflammatory drug. Molecular model of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) phenylbutazone. NSAIDs inhibit the production of prostaglandins, the hormone-like chemicals that induce inflammation. Phenylbutazones use is limited due to its serious side effects, which include the suppression of blood cell production by the bone marrow. It is only used to treat ankylosing spondylitis, a form of inflammatory arthritis that mainly affects the spine. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white), oxygen (red) and nitrogen (blue)
