This print captures the historic surrender of British General John Burgoyne to General Horatio Gates of the Continental Army at Saratoga, New York on October 17,1777. The line engraving, created by T. Wallis after William Marshall Craig in 1807, beautifully depicts this pivotal moment in American history.
