Built by Sultan Mehmet II between 1451 and 1452, this imposing castle was constructed as a strategic move prior to his conquest of Constantinople, which would later become Istanbul. The fortress, a marvel of architectural engineering, was completed in an impressive four-month timeframe. The Rumeli Hisari, also known as Roumeli Hisari or the European Castle, boasts an intricate design with battlements, towers, and a commanding presence over the Bosphorus.
