EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the charming village of Tregony in Cornwall, capturing a moment frozen in time - 1973. As we gaze upon Fore Street, our eyes are drawn towards the clock tower that proudly stands on the left side of the picture. This architectural gem was erected in 1833 and still exudes its timeless beauty. On the right-hand side of the clock tower, we spot an intriguing establishment known as Clock House Pottery. Its quaint charm adds to the character of this picturesque street. Moving along, our attention is captured by a building that once served as a garage but has now been transformed into an Antiques shop, offering treasures from times gone by. Continuing our journey down Fore Street, we encounter The Kings Arms public house - a place where locals likely gathered for merriment and camaraderie. A little further along, a shop catches our eye with vibrant advertisements showcasing Walls ice cream and Guards cigarettes - tempting treats for both young and old alike. Photographer Charles Woolf skillfully captures not only these physical landmarks but also manages to convey a sense of nostalgia through his lens. This print evokes memories of simpler times when life moved at a slower pace in this idyllic Cornish village.
