EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this print capturing the picturesque view of Moresk viaduct from Moresk street in Truro, pre-1881. The image showcases a woman gracefully crossing the historic Moresk footbridge, which would soon be replaced by Brunel's magnificent Moresk viaduct. This Class A viaduct, an engineering marvel of its time, stands tall at 28 meters high and stretches an impressive 405 meters long across 20 sturdy piers. Remarkably, even today, fourteen of these original piers still stand alongside the replacement stone viaduct that was brought into use on February 14th, 1904. Transport yourself to a bygone era as you admire the cornish Victorian houses lining the street and catch a glimpse of tranquil waters flowing beneath. This idyllic scene is further enhanced by the distant presence of a passing train on the Great Western Railway track. Immerse yourself in history through every detail captured within this remarkable photograph. From the charming window frames adorning each house to the grandeur of Brunel's architectural masterpiece looming proudly in the background – it truly encapsulates a moment frozen in time
