The engine, manufactured by Napier, is a two-spool, axial-flow turbojet engine, characterized by its compact size and high thrust-to-weight ratio. The rear section of the engine, as depicted in this image, houses the compressor and turbine stages, as well as the fuel injection system and the afterburner. The compressor section, located towards the front of the engine, draws in ambient air and compresses it, increasing its pressure and temperature.
