In this charming photograph from 1902, Princess Mary of York, later known as the Princess Royal and Viscountess Lascelles, is seen enjoying a ride in a large pram with her younger brother, Prince Henry of York, who would later become the Duke of Gloucester. Mary, born on May 25, 1897, was the eldest child of Prince George, Duke of York, and Princess Mary of Teck. Her younger brother, Henry, was born on September 30, 1900. The two were raised in the shadow of their grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary, and their uncle, King Edward VII.
