Kobus defassa Collection

Kobus defassa, also known as the defassa waterbuck, is a species of antelope in the Bovidae family, and is native to sub-Saharan Africa and inhabits savannas, floodplains and grasslands, distinctive white ring around its rump which distinguishes it from other antelopes and can reach up to 1.2 m in height and weigh up to 250 kg. Its diet consists mainly of grasses but it will also eat leaves, fruits and aquatic plants when available. Males have short horns which are used for fighting during mating season while females lack horns altogether. The kobus defassa is an important prey species for large predators such as lions, hyenas and leopards but its population remains stable due to its ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
