Together, they experienced numerous minor engagements during their time on the ship - from being present at L'Orient on June 23rd, 1795 to witnessing the glorious Battle of the Nile led by Admiral Nelson on August 1st, 1798.
Despite her advanced age, Mrs. Perriam remained actively involved in naval affairs while aboard HMS Crescent by diligently preparing flannel cartridges for the great guns. Her dedication and resilience are evident in her wise eyes and serene expression captured in this image.
