EDITORS COMMENTS

However, their initial development was overshadowed by the emergence of cheaper and more dependable internal combustion vehicles. In this image, we witness an iconic moment in London's transport evolution. The first motorised buses made their appearance on the bustling streets of London in 1902. Among them, the Milnes-Daimler model stood out as a popular and reliable choice for commuters. This particular snapshot offers us a glimpse into an era when electric buses were still being explored as a viable mode of transportation. Preserved within Historic England Archive's collection, this print not only captures an exquisite piece of automotive heritage but also serves as a testament to human ingenuity and progress in our quest for sustainable mobility solutions.
