The Queen Mary Hospital in Roehampton had organized a special lunch tea and entertainment for 64 men who had been long-term residents of the hospital. Some of these brave individuals had spent over two decades under its care, while others were disabled veterans from the ongoing war. Led by Betty Tibby, an accomplished variety artiste from Kingsbury and part of the Charmon Duo act, the atmosphere was filled with joy as she guided the men in singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary". The power of music transcended their physical limitations and brought smiles to their faces.
