Second World War, North Africa Campaign. Troops of the 6th Battalion, Queens Own (Royal West Kent) Regiment (78th Infantry Division) arrived at Siliana (Djebel-Bargou Front) and moved through Robba to relieve a French unit in the line. They started to advance and continued to do so the following day. " C" Company carried on the advance and maintained contact with the Italians and after a severe pounding by 25 pounder artillery guns the enemy again retreated and on 29 January 1943 the Royal West Kents lost contact with them.
