Three one-armed bandits which have been marooned for a weekend at Clevedon, Somerset

Three one-armed bandits which have been marooned for a weekend at Clevedon, Somerset, were rescued by boat. But four other slot machines had to be left behind when choppy seas made the operation too dangerous. Piermaster Bernard Faraway, aged 50, led the rescue operation. The pier head was cut off from the mainland a week ago when a 200ft section of the pier collapsed during safety tests. A survey ordered by Clevedon Councils being carried out to decide whether to repair or demolish the 1000ft long pier. In a daring rescue operation, three one-armed bandits were saved from their marooned state at Clevedon, Somerset. The picturesque seaside town was left in awe as choppy seas made it too perilous to retrieve four other slot machines stranded on the pier. Piermaster Bernard Faraway, a seasoned expert in such matters, fearlessly led the mission to bring these beloved games back to safety. The dramatic events unfolded after a 200ft section of the pier collapsed during safety tests, cutting off access to the mainland for an entire week.
