Its overcast weather, but some even have buckets and spades for sandcastles and the sand is a sand pit where they can dig to their hearts content. They even have Punch and Judy shows which put the seaside tang into a day at the local playground, named Bermondsey Spa. Little " mother" Maureen Dibley, aged 9, holds 12-month-old Mary Spinks in her lap and enjoys her laughter as they watch the show. 2nd August 1956
