This print captures the legendary Cassius Clay, better known as Muhammad Ali, during a visit to Austin Reeds on London's iconic Regent Street. The year was 1963, and Cassius had set out to find a suit that would match his larger-than-life personality. However, much to his dismay, the store did not have one big enough to accommodate his impressive chest and broad shoulders. Undeterred by this setback, Cassius decided to explore other options within the store. He eventually settled for purchasing some shirts instead of a suit. Even in finding a shirt that fit him properly, he encountered difficulties due to his extraordinary physique. This image serves as a reminder of Ali's immense physical presence and the challenges he faced when it came to finding clothing that could match his stature. It also highlights the racial dynamics of the time period with its mention of an African American boxer navigating through an upscale department store in London.
